GIS

A Geographic Information System (GIS) for property searches is an interactive digital mapping tool that overlays real estate data—such as property boundaries, ownership records, and zoning information—onto a geographical map to help users evaluate specific parcels of land.

Registry of Deeds

A Registry of Deeds is a local government office responsible for managing and maintaining the public records of real estate ownership and property transfers.

Enviromental Resources

The Wetlands Mapper: A public GIS map run by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service used to locate recognized wetlands, helping landowners ensure projects don't disturb protected waters.

NC Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC): The state agency that protects North Carolina's wildlife habitats by reviewing land projects and enforcing environmental regulations to prevent damage to local ecosystems.
